Welcome to Foxborough Primary School

Welcome to this window into Foxborough  Primary School. We, the staff and Governors, have tried through this website to deal with all the questions that come to mind when you are perhaps taking that most critical of decisions, choosing a school for your children. We know what it is like – we’ve done it too!  We have also tried to give you access to documents and information we think will be useful to you in understanding what Foxborough is like and the  kind of things that go on in our lovely school.

We care for each other in a welcoming school family, we embrace equality, we celebrate diversity and we strive for excellence in everything we do.

Quoted above is our vision statement, based on the old ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda, which we truly embrace. We hope you will share it.

Foxborough Primary School has been serving the local community of Langley for many years now and we are very committed to developing community cohesion and extending our school provision to serve our local area. The school as a building has seen many changes and it is now very spacious and well equipped with wonderful outdoor learning areas. This is in addition to classrooms, super school grounds, two school halls and a separate dining hall. We also have a dedicated ‘nurture’ unit called the Den which provides additional support for children and families. Our Parent Support worker, Mrs Lee is available to meet with parents and carers as requested. Foxborough School has a resource base for profoundly deaf children. The school is also fortunate to have excellent ICT facilities as seen by the fact our children in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 have access to their own computers, with a separate dedicated ICT suite available for all year groups. Soon we intend to buy tablets – possibly iPads – to enhance our provision for the children.

We specifically focus here on communications skills, with special emphasis in the Early Years (Nursery and YR) on speaking and listening, in KS1 (the ‘Infants’) on reading and in KS2 ( the ‘Juniors’) on writing. Our aim here, though, is to give children access to a broad and balanced curriculum and to provide the very best in education for all our pupils, whatever their ability, (we know everybody is good at something and it’s our job, with your help, to find out  what). We truly make every effort to ensure that each child can develop their academic, social and personal skills to their full potential in a stimulating, caring and nurturing environment. We strive, too, to make education enjoyable , exciting and fun!

Foxborough Primary Group

Our school is a busy, happy and friendly place. The ethos is good and you, as parents, are invited to spend as much time here as you like. We actively encourage as many people as possible to help us in the work we do whilst ensuring that the school is secure and safe.

Here at Foxborough we really do believe that education is about partnership and the children are the centre of the partnership that must develop between us. We believe, therefore, that you have the right to access, to know what is going on, to expect us to communicate with you fully and to take seriously your concerns. We believe that you have the right to expect us to do the very best we can to help your children achieve their potential and, at the same time, be happy and safe. We also believe we can then expect that you take seriously your responsibilities to communicate with us, to share your concerns as soon as possible, to support us with the work we are doing and to encourage your children to be positive about education. Regular, punctual attendance is a vital part of this partnership . If these factors are all in place, we believe that the children in our care will be best able to achieve both their potential and happiness.

To finish then, and let you get on exploring this site, we really do care about our children. We care about their happiness and safety and care about every child achieving individual excellence. If you care about the same things, come and see what we are like. If you like what you see and feel, and we have spaces in our increasingly popular and growing school, you and your child/ren are more than welcome to join us.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Angela Brown
Acting Headteacher
